Houston Expunction Attorney

What is an Expunction?

An expunction is the removal of the records of a criminal arrest. Expunctions are not available to everyone, but for those who are eligible it will completely erase a criminal record. If you or someone you know would like to find out if they are eligible for an expunction, Houston criminal defense lawyer Gary S. Miller of Miller Law Group PLLC may be able to assist you.

Serving the Houston area

Miller Law Group PLLC serves clients in the greater Houston area, including all of Harris County, Galveston County, Fort Bend County, and Montgomery County. As a Houston criminal defense attorney, Gary S. Miller has spent his career in Houston-area courts focusing on criminal defense. He offers extensive knowledge and defense skills and personalized attention to each case. He will talk to you directly about your case during a free initial consultation to determine how he may be able to help you.

Record Expunction

An individual's criminal record may be used by many agencies such as schools, employers, apartment managers, credit bureaus, and government agencies, which may result in these agencies denying college acceptances, employment, apartment rentals, credit, and other necessities. Getting a record expunction eliminates these negative consequences.  If you have been involved in a case that was dismissed, declined, or deemed not guilty, you are eligible for a record expunction. Even though your case was dismissed or you were found not guilty, the fact that you were arrested and charged will remain as a public record until an expunction removes it.

Non-disclosure Order

A non-disclosure petition will prevent your record from being made available to the public as well. If you have completed a deferred adjudication probation, you may be eligible for a non-disclosure order that prevents all government agencies from accessing your criminal record. Each non-disclosure petition is judged independently and based on its own merit.

Find out from a Houston expunction attorney if you are eligible for a record expunction or non-disclosure order.  Contact the office today to schedule an appointment to discuss your case with attorney Gary S. Miller!
